I`m quite often using the Evernote service to store notes and pdf`s of all kind. Until now I have used the Evernote application on my computer..but when looking for stuff on my mac I prefer to just use the spotlight search function to find and launch documents. This led to having duplicates of the documents, both in Evernote and in a documents folder. To avoid this(and since I mostly need this service when I`m not in front of my computer)  I uninstalled the Evernote application on my mac, and started to use only “the mail to web service”.

When mailing stuff to the Evernote account I can then specify the title of the note, the notebook and the tags for the note, in the subject field of the mail message. Very handy. When specifying notebook and tags just use @ as prefix for the notebook and # as prefix for each tag.

The New Note @TheNewNotebook #New #Note would give you a new note in the specified notebook with the title : The New Note, and with the tags New and Note.

This method however, does not create new notebooks or tags it seems, you have to use existing notebooks and tags, and it is also case sensitive.
